ATAPY Software made a donation to American Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund, to help the victims of the devastating January, 12 earthquake in Haiti - a disaster that claimed at least 75 000 lives, leaving 300 000 homeless.

ATAPY Software is to complete development of the first version of the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) SDK based on OCR technology by ABBYY Software House. The ANPR SDK by ATAPY Software recognizes captured images of Russian, German, Swedish and Dutch vehicle numbers using ABBYY FineReader Engine; there is also a mobile version of the toolkit based on ABBYY Mobile OCR Engine. The SDK release is planned in 2010.

ATAPY Software has completed ABBYY FlexiCapture 9.0 and ABBYY FlexiLayout Studio 9.0 Re-Certification training. The course was held on October 5-7 on ATAPY premises. Ten engineers from the technical support group and several software development groups have received Certificates approving their knowledge of ABBYY FlexiCapture technology.

ATAPY Software has released Visioneer OneTouch® Link to EasySeparate - a solution that seamlessly integrates the industry-leading Visioneer and XEROX scanners with EasySeparate - a data input system by its Dutch partner EasyData B.V. The ATAPY's Visioneer-certified OneTouch® Link allows users to enjoy the benefits of quick and straightforward scanning combined with EasySeparate's data capture capabilities.

This past weekend, ATAPY Software celebrated its 8th anniversary. The event took place in the ‘Russian House’ recreation center located 180 km away from Novosibirsk on the bank of the Chumish river.

For eight years ATAPY has been providing its customers a range of OCR/data capture services, working for the benefit of the document management industry through its commitment to quality and innovation. Throughout its history, the company has achieved impressive growth; today we employ 10 times more people than back in 2001 and pride ourselves in having completed more than 150 projects for customers worldwide.

ATAPY's QA specialists completed an advanced training course prepared by Luxoft Training Center. Our team expanded its expertise in modern methods of functional and configuration testing, new approaches to test design, alternative testing methodologies, and other aspects of software quality assurance.

ATAPY Software completed a large media service project for Danish GAFFA musical magazine. In this project ATAPY converted all magazine issues between 1983 and 2008 into XML format. The archive also provides access to original page images linked to XML files. Please see the results online.

Media Service Department engineers of ATAPY are proud to participate in the socially important project of Novosibirsk city administration in close cooperation with ‘Zolotaya Korona’, the national card payment system.

ATAPY is responsible for capturing the handwritten application forms for the student transportation cards in the city of Novosibirsk, valid in the city's subway system, buses, trolleybuses and trams.

ATAPY pushes the geographic borders again by establishing relationships with the Swedish Literature Bank. The Media Service department of the company completed the pilot project of OCR-conversion, proofreading, and XML markup of several Swedish books from the bank stock.

ATAPY nearly doubles its office space by partially moving to new suites conveniently located in the same compound known as the Computing Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Science Academy. Our mailing address and the phone/fax numbers remain the same.

August 4-10, 2006 - To celebrate opening the new page in relationships, EasyData and ATAPY held the 1st Open International Horseback Archery Competition in the Republic of Altai, some 600 kilometers south of Novosibirsk. Mr. Rob Camerlink, the CEO of EasyData and also a renowned archer, says ‘I hope this becomes a regular event which contributes to popularization of this ancient sport.’

ATAPY has started a new media project for The State and University Library of the University of Aarhus (Denmark). After a successful accomplishment of ‘Nordic Sounds’ musical magazine archive digitization last year, our engineers set to creation of an XML archive of ‘MM’ musical magazine. The project is very similar in nature to ‘Nordic Sounds’, the difference is the print language. This time the text is all Danish.

ATAPY signs a development outsourcing contract with Arizona State University. The contract is sponsored by USAID and is concerned with IT consulting and development services for a public policy research project undertaken by ASU and Moscow State University.

ABBYY Software House and ATAPY Software have jointly sponsored the 6th All-Siberian Open Olympiad on Programming held in Novosibirsk State University in memory of Dr. Igor Pottosin. A package of FineReader 8.0 Professional was awarded the ASTU_A team of Altai State Technical University who won in the nomination of The Best Student Team East of Urals.

ATAPY has completed an OCR-related software development contract for One Click Solutions GmbH, a German company specializing in document capture and retrieval. Mr. Klaus Rehm, the CEO and founder of the company, comments on ATAPY's performance: ‘I have worked now a lot with the software and I can say I'm very happy with what I got. To help the victims of the hurricane Katrina that recently devastated millions of homes and businesses in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, ATAPY Software made a donation to American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund.

ATAPY Software becomes a member of Sibacademsoft, a non-profit association of local IT companies. The association was founded in the beginning of 2001, aimed at developing IT business in the Siberian region and promoting contacts and cooperation between its members, other IT-related organizations, and potential clients.

Following several successful projects in 2003 - 2004, ATAPY Software and NSi have signed an agreement opening door to even closer cooperation between the companies. ATAPY's experience accumulated while porting ABBYY Lingvo to Windows CE platform comes in handy for development of the new version of NoviiRemote for Windows Mobile™ 2002/2003.

ATAPY invites you to look at the new Web page by ABBYY Software House dedicated to FineReader XIX for Fraktur and Old European Script Recognition - a special version of FineReader OCR software for recognizing the ‘black letter’ texts from the period 1800-1938. ATAPY has made an important contribution into this product by preparing the computer models which describe the 5 European languages of that historical period.
Project Case Study

ATAPY recently signed a contract with DM Dokumenten Management GmbH concerning design and development of an AIS for ABBYY FormReader 6.0 Enterprise Edition. AIS will be installed in place of the standard-issue Scanning Station, and will provide compatibility with image sources other than TWAIN scanners, such as heavy-duty industrial scanners or imaging archives.

ATAPY Software and NORDIC SOUNDS musical magazine have signed the media service agreement for creation of electronic archive of the periodical. Within the frames of the agreement ATAPY will digitize and export to XML over 2500 pages of the Danish musical revue. The project starts in September.

February 19-22, 2004 - ATAPY Software participates in IT Project Management trainings organized by ICT Connector together with SibAcademSoft. This set of trainings consists of three blocks, which are ‘Project Management’, ‘Software Project Risk Management’ and ‘Software Project appraisal’. The trainings are provided by the St.Petersburg Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI).
